Turned my phone off of safe mode and it seems to be running fine with no pop ups so far. I think the file name or apps may vary. But in safe mode you can see apps that are active and if they look unfamiliar seems you never use them, maybe do a little research and if it doesn't seem necessary, then delete it. You can always reinstall it id you need it.
The icon here may or may not match the one you saw in the app switcher, but this is the app pushing ads. Upon reboot, 'Safe mode' appears in the lower-left of the unlock / Home screen. I launched my S7 in Safe Mode, then went through all my applications and uninstalled or disabled EVERYTHING I don't use on a daily basis or don't consider CRITICAL for daily survival. Yes, when I change my wallpaper I get the same popup as you do, and I'm on A12 UI4.

Some legitimate websites display web content in pop-up windows. If you don't remember accepting the terms for SyncPlus and Yahoo's privacy policy, it's because you probably didn't. Samsung opts you in during device setup, and you must opt-out on your own.
This is inconsistent with the previous scenario and annoying for the user to have to manually minimize all the windows themselves. I've done this and also checked apps to see if they had ads and none did but I still get the ads when my phone goes into sleep mode and then wakes up. I deleted all of my nonessential ads and it still continues to happen. A few examples of the ads I get - Teleflex, Gibson Hill personal injury, The Street. Any more ideas on where these are coming from and how to get rid of them.

Thank you, your suggestion worked; I had no pop up ads; once i turned the phone back on normally it started again. It mainly happens when the phone is locked and not being used. Suddenly a random video app will start playing in the background; its especially annoying when it happens in the middle of the night. Can anyone please help me with this problem? It started about a week ago, and I am getting Random full screen pop up ads.
To the left of the address bar, tap Lock Permissions. Go to the website you want to change notifications from. To the right of the address bar, tap More Settings. You should see all the recently updated apps listed, and can now try uninstalling any that you think are causing pop-ups. I deleted the led flashlight app and the popups were gone!

I also started seeing pop-up ads during game play with my new samsung UHD. Bought and set up ps4 and tv in past couple weeks together so this is all I've known. Will be looking for the way to disable the ads or will be telling best buy they need to take it back...
